From fiction to nonfiction, website and blog content, Shauna
Zurbrugg has assisted best-selling authors and
website owners for more than twenty years with her diverse
editorial skills.
As an editor and proofreader, Shauna makes it easy for writers to understand her notes through simple, direct
language inserted into the material, unlike often difficult to decipher notations on the side of a page. As a ghostwriter and blogger, she has the ability to write in a variety of styles which always merge with an author or website's
"voice." Shauna also has a sharp sense of story-subject continuity and will quickly discover crucial gaps that have been overlooked by seasoned writers and other professional editors.
Shauna's work as an editor-abriger has gained numerous outstanding reviews and awards from Publisher's Weekly and regional print media outlets in the U.S. and England. She has worked directly with Paul Theroux, Amy Tan, Timothy Ferris, Erica Jong, Paul Auster, Ursula Le Guin — among many other prolific, award-winning writers. Clients who have requested confidentiality remain anonymous, as do the projects for which she has provided co-writing and basic editorial support.

General Biography
Prior to her career in publishing, Shauna became one of the first full-time female DJ's on mainstream radio in the United States at WNCR and WMMS in Cleveland, Ohio, and at KLOS and KMET in Los Angeles, California. Shauna can be seen in the Emmy award-winning documentary "Radio Daze" (based on the book of the same title by Mike Olszewski) that chronicled the vibrant Cleveland music scene and the powerful sway WMMS held within the national radio community. Other books with interviews and features on Shauna can be found in "Rock 'N' Roll and the Cleveland Connection" and "Images of America: Cleveland's Rock and Roll Roots", both by author Deanna Adams.
In early 2017, Shauna was named among The Top 100 Most Influential Radio Personalities in Cleveland radio, along with notable radio characters who also worked in that market such as Don Imus, and the infamous Alan Freed and Casey Kasem.
After moving to Los Angeles to continue her on-air presence for several years, Shauna shifted her focus to television production where she worked in the local PBS (KCET) station's News Department as a researcher-producer. In addition to other TV programs devoted to news and current affairs, Shauna was among the first ten people hired to the staff of the now institutional "Entertainment Tonight", producing and researching music-related segments of the program. Among her other television credits on successive celebrity-based programs, Shauna directed music icons (as well as TV and film personalities) in promotional spots and interviews (ie; Stevie Wonder, Lou Reed, Ray Davies, Chrissie Hynde, George Martin, Grace Jones, Barry Manilow, Boy George — among many others).
While working in TV production, in conjunction with producing and researching, Shauna wrote press releases, biographies of potential interview subjects, trivia questions used as on-air filler, story synopsis' for network pitch meetings, detailed background 'intelligence' concerning unsolved Hollywood crime/murder cases, and interview questions.
Shauna's lifelong love of reading and writing came to fruition when she joined Dove Audio/NewStar Media in 1992 as a freelance audiobook abriger, in-house staff producer, editor and writer. On occasion, she was hired as the voiceover talent for other producers' assignments. During her ten year stint with the company, two of Shauna's audiobook projects were nominated for Grammy awards in the "Best Spoken Word' category.* She has produced-directed projects with numerous authors,TV and film personalities.
Following the 2002 sale of Dove/NewStar, Shauna developed a consistent freelance editing and writing business which she continues to grow with BETWEEN-THE-LINES.
